Dear Elton,

they say you will turn 60 today. I say you will turn 60 again.

Only a minute after your birthday, you had the first 60 to celebrate: 60 seconds! And less than an hour later, it was time to revel your 60 minutes on this planet. Within another two and a half days you broke the 60 hours barrier. Things naturally slowed down a bit after that as you had to wait until May 24, 1947 to acclaim your 60 days anniversary - the same day Bob Dylan turned seven years old. And a bit less than a year later, on May 18, 1948, it was time to commemorate 60 weeks, while Trini Lopez Trinidad probably started looking for a hammer on his 11th birthday. For anyone with a little bit of mathematical talent it won’t come as a surprise that 60 months were reached on your 5th birthday (March 25, 1952) - by the way, also the 10th birthday of Aretha Franklin.

So here we are now celebrating your 60 years lifespan, but there were a lot more 60 milestones in between: 60 million seconds, for example, you’ve reached on February 16, 1949. But don’t even think about getting to the 60 billion seconds mark as that won’t happen before July 20, 3848. If we take a look into the minutes space, things look a bit more promising, yet challenging: You’ve reached 60,000 minutes on May 5, 1947, but it will take you roughly another 54 years from today to also get to 60 million minutes on April 21, 2061 - you would be 114 years old by then. Looking at 60,000 hours, you coped with that on January 27, 1954. 60 million hours would put us into the year 8796, so let’s try 600,000 hours instead, as that’s will be on September 4, 2015 - a Friday.

You are performing your 60th show at Madison Square Garden today at your 60th birthday. What about if you try to reach the 600 show hours at the Garden mark by the time you turn 600,000 hours? Assuming an average show length of 3 hours that would give the fans another 140 shows at the Garden within the next eight and a half years. Isn’t math great - I am putting September 4, 2015 in my calendar right now!

But joking apart and enough of the numbers gimmick. In the following, you will find congratulation messages from fans from all over the world. In addition to that, some of your fans have put together special video clips to send their congratulation message to you. These can be found on special 2-DVD set which I have delivered to your hotel in New York on March 24, 2007. Some of the material on these two DVDs can also be found here.

I would like to wish you a Happy 60th Birthday and wishes for many more.

I have been a big fan since your beginning and I want to thank you for all the wonderful music and happy memories. Although I have seen you at the Garden many times, I can only be there in spirit for your special birthday concert. I know it’s going to be the best concert ever, so have a blast! If you want to have another birthday concert soon, please consider The Woodlands or Houston Texas. We’d love to have you here to help celebrate this milestone with you. You are a truly amazing man who has affected the lives of many people, not just me. Thank you for being you and I hope I can see you very soon. Have a wonderful birthday!

Happy 60th Birthday, my beloved Elton!

I wish you a wonderful happy day with a lot of sun in your heart
and completely a lot of love!
I still wish you so many more wonderful years in your life.
I wish you for the future so much luck and love,
success in all what you do and very good health.
And I wish you everything what you wish yourself.
I wish you that all your dreams and wishes come true.
I wish you all luck of this earth.
I wish you so much luck how a person can only endure.
If God you may protect on all your ways.
If God may be with you and hold his protecting hand about you
where always you are.

There is nobody who is better, than you! You are the biggest!

My life has changed since I found you.
By you every day is a lucky day for me.
Because you write so wonderful music, I am happy.
Your voice touches my heart and it warms my soul.
Already so many years … up to the today…
Please, don’t stop to be a musician - never never never.
It is so wonderful - the life with you.

You are always in my heart and in my thought.
You make my life so rich.
I sure love you.

Dear Elton,

I would like to wish you Happy Birthday. You are my favourite singer. I am a huge fan and I love your music very much. You are my idol. Your beautiful music has always been an inspiration for me and brightens up dark moments.

My favourite album is “Made in England”. It was a great evening when I saw you the first time live in Ludwigslust in 1999. This concert is an unforgettable moment of my life. It would be great to meet you and speak with you. Maybe it will be happen one day.

Thank you for your music and inspiration. I admire you very much.

With much love and kind regards.

Your fan

Dear Elton John,

This is the second way wishing you a wonderful 60th Birthday. I hope with all of my heart, that you stay healthy and happy the next years!

I think there’s nothing more to say about the pleasure and also the pain you brought into my life with your incredible music. Since I am your fan (I believe it was in 2002; I was 12) my feeling for music has changed completely - in a positive way of course.

I can’t wait until I see you from the 16th row in Iffezheim (Germany) this June - but I have to wait. I hope deeply that you like my recording of the new version from “Sixty years on” (see ‘New Sixty Years On’ page)!

That’s why I only want to tell you this few words now: “You know our vintage prayers are for your eternal fame”.

Have a wonderful birthday!

With best wishes,
Sina, Leipzig (Germany)

Dear Elton,

Wishing you a very Happy 60th Birthday!

Thank you so much for all the memories and for all the pleasure your music has given me over the years. Watching you on stage is just so special and I treasure every minute of it, not wanting it to end.

I named my daughter Chloe (aged 5) after one of your songs and my son is called Thomas Elton Smith (aged 2). And I even have a tattoo of you, as a tribute to such a fantastic musician and performer.

I wish you every bit of happiness and good health and can’t wait for the day that I can bring my children along to see you on stage. You truely are a legend!

With much love

Tanya Smith, Suffolk, England.

P.S. Please, bring your Red Piano to England! - Would love to see you at Watford again and the new Wembley!

To Dear Sir Elton Hercules John,

Happy 60th Birthday on this day, 25 March 2007. I’m sure you’ll have a ball.

I remember the first time I fell in love with your musical talent and that was while I watched The Lion King. Wow that is such a great movie and all thanks to you. There are not enough dictionaries to describe the feeling I get about you except that you are the best.

The very first concert of yours I attended was during your “Captain and The Kid” Tour at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. I attended on the 28th November 2006. It was a great performance, truly a memorable experience. I bought a t-shirt and a program (if I had more money I would have bought most of the range of merchandise).

Congratulations once again on turning sixty.

Yours Faithfully, Troy
